Also note the standard cleaning kit on the table. This set contained the oil bottle, a pull chain, a K98 takedown tool, wire brushes and cleaning material. The 'Reinigungsger¤t 34' was used not only for the K98 but also for the handguns, including the P08.

Use of the Reinigungsger¤t 34 was described in the document H.Dv. 255 (Heeres Dienstvorschrift 255) / L. Dv. 355 (Luftwaffe Dienstvorschrift 405). The documents point toward a separate cleaning instruction document for the Reinigungsger¤t 34. (D. 110 as it is called in the H.Dv. 255).

H.Dv. 256 / M.Dv.Nr. 378 / L.Dv. 409 describes the use of the Reinigungsger¤t 34 and the Reinigungsger¤t 34 for 22lr training sets.

I would be nervous about the smaller man pointing the muzzle my way...

And I usually do not like to point a muzzle down at my own foot when cleaning or taking apart...

:D :D

Look like pilots to me, with wings on collars. I wonder how many know they are cleaning a $20K or higher Krieghoff rig. :D

Hi,

I agree they're luftwaffe. But judging from the collar bagde they're 'flieger' or 'jaeger', the lowest luftwaffe rank.

But, them being Luftwaffe, there's a great chance that they are cleaning John D. 's Krieghoff collection here ;)
