P.08 Erfurt 1916 Chamber Dated
1 Attachment(s)
I bought a portable light box and it was delivered to my door yesterday. I was very anxious to try it out. Working out the kinks but I think it was a good investment. Due to the progression of digital photography Iâ??ve come to really enjoy taking photographs of family, friends, and hobbies. :)
P.08 Erfurt 1916 Chamber Date â?? S/N 6185b. Matching Erfurt proofed magazine. Unfortunately not regimental marked. According to Stillâ??s Imperial Lugers, 1994, less than 0.5% of 1916 dated Erfurts are unit marked. I like the gun because it is an honest clean piece and I bought the gun/rig because Erfurt put proofs on everything. The serial number puts it in the early year production range, hence no tangent sight relief cut on the front of the receiver. This year was the second lowest run besides the P.08 Erfurt 1914 Chamber Date. Right side of pistol. |

The fit and finish of the Erfurt was definitely rougher than the DWM of the same time period. Notice the Imperial proofed grip screw. The screw should also be a strong reminder to use a proper fitting screwdriver to remove.

The holster is a brown â??1916â? dated and maker stamped which just happened to have been in Erfurt. The holster like the gun is in very good shape but with some â??saltâ?.

There is an inscription by the dated marker stamp but I am unable to interpret it.

Joe,
Looks good but you should get a copy of photoshop to play with your photos. You may not like what I came up with but the point is you can enhance the photos to suit yourself. Thanks for the reply Tom. I have photoshop software. Used it to crop and resize the photos I've posted. I haven't figured out how to display several photos in one posting as you have, though. I think this new light box will help with the lighting issues I've had in the past, especially the "ole kitchen light shadow". LOL!
