7.65 DWM pocket automatic
No, it's not a luger, but maybe you guys can help me out. I'm looking for any information I can find about the browning 1910 copy that DWM made in the 1920's. They have NO markings other than the dwm script and the crown over N proofs on the slide, frame, and barrel. I have looked and looked all over the web and can dind nothing other than a passing mention of it. It is NOT an Ortgies clone. It is a browning 1910 just made by DWM. Thanks!

Brian,
Several of these DWM guns were discussed over on Jan Still's Gun Board as well in the past. Here is a link to one with lots of good info. and photos...info. on some recent pricing as well... : http://luger.gunboards.com/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=7356 |
Thanks alot ED and Pete!!!!!! You guys have just given me more information on my pistol than I have been able to dig up in YEARS! Apparently mine is a model 22 as it has the wooden grips. It is in about 95% condition and has the original shoulder holster in same condition. the holster is marked D.R.G.M. and Akah. It's a nice little shooter but it seems I won't be shooting it as much as I used to.....which only amounted to about 80 rounds in 5 years anyhow. I'll have some pictures up tonight in my gallery over at the gk43forum.

Please post your photos here too! :)

I've tried to post here before but it told me the files were too large. I'm a freakin' technoidiot!! I'm so techno phobic, I bought a mechanical watch for no other reason than so I simply wouldn't have to worry about changing the battery! I will try again.
Still looking for that Jager b.t.w. |
If this link works, you should be able too see the pictures of my clunker.
http://gk43forum.com/forum/vbpicgall...?do=view&g=562 B.T.W. I'm STILL looking for a Jager automatic...... |
Congratulations! - Very nice pistol with an original AKAH shoulder holster. I reckon these FN-DWM pistols are going to appreciate in value quite quickly as more collectors learn about them. I am planning to buy one with the blackite grips having the DWM lettering on the grips.
Small poll - which version would collectors prefer - wood grips or blackite grips? Albert |
I like wood grips.....but I might be biased!
|
normally wood grips Albert, but sometimes the bakelite just makes the gun :)
|
Especially true on a p38. Those red bakalite grips are just plain neat!
|
The wood grips on this model are of exceptional quality, being made with the fine checkering usually found only on DWM Luger grips. For this reason I prefer the wood grips, but I would love to own both types.

C'mon guys! Someone here has to have a clunky old Jager that they want to trade for this clunky old DWM. Ron, I know you follow Jagers and you want a DWM. Make something happen buddy! Whoever gets this thing will definitely be making out on the deal!
|
Jan Still did this study on the Jager pistols :
http://luger.gunboards.com/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=56 You might want to email some of those owners to see if they want to trade/sell...??? |
I put out feelers over there. Thanks for the info Pete! I've got this thing plastered all over the place. You know what they say....persistence pays off. I know Ron Wood was looking for one of these DWM jobs and I'm glad to set him up.....for a Jager. He has had quite a bit of input about Jagers on the other forum so I know he has some contacts! From what I've been able to find out, Jagers aren't all that valuable....just rare. So Ron, come out come out wherever you are! :-p
