Luger with alu-handle piece

Hi,

I've phoned a nearby dealer, because i'm searching for a P08.

He told me, he have one which is produced (in the years) after the war, and have an alu-grip.

Do someone know if the Luger was original produced and sold with an alu-grip?

The Gun has all matching numbers and should cost 220 Euros. Is that an realistic price?

Thanks

Maybe he is taking about a P-38 and not a P-08...???

It may have an aluminum magazine bottom, but all the grip frames of production guns were made of steel. If he has a shootable Luger in any caliber it is worth far more than 220 Euros... Go see it and buy it if it is pleasing to the eye.

Of course Pete is correct that the dealer may incorrectly be identifying a post was P.38 (or P.1) as a "Luger"... the 220 Euro price would be in line for this type of gun.

or as a "Stoeger", they had wood grips, but 220 euro's sounds waaaay to low....

IIRC, I saw some cheesey aluminum grips on a Luger many, many years ago...what an atrocity from an aesthetic perspective.

The norwegian army purchased a bunch of those crappy P38's with alu frame.. They took target practice up to a brand new level of excitement! Until they where sold cheap out of the country and resold as rare and valuble

Alx, msg sent :)

Thanks for your answers,

so I will look if this is real a P08 with Alu-Grip, or he was false.

If it is one with an alu-grip, I will buy it :D

grips are relatively inexpensive... if the gun is a LUGER, for only 220 Euros then buy it fast before someone else does.

I do recall that some of the grips made during the war were made of metal for P.38's but no factory grips for Lugers were aluminum.
