Another year and value
I inherited this Luger which has a serial of 3762 located under the barrel with a script m below that. It does have made in Germany on the frame. It does have the n with the crown above it and the DWM marking. From what I understand so far is that it is a commercial luger and the caliber is the 7.65 from the rounds that were in the magazine. It does have the 62 marks on the smaller parts that I can see but have had the gun apart to see if the internal parts also match. There is a black leather case that has 6738 in white lettering on it as well and no marks on either clip. I have not attempted to clean the gun as is noticeable in the pictures. I can provide more pictures of any part that is helpful.
Thank you in advance. Jayhttp://forum.lugerforum.com/lfupload/cimg1172.jpg http://forum.lugerforum.com/lfupload/cimg1173.jpg http://forum.lugerforum.com/lfupload/cimg1175.jpg http://forum.lugerforum.com/lfupload/cimg1176.jpg |
Looks like a niced commericial luger, made mid 1920's, the holster appears to be a P38.
Welcome to the forum, ed |
Thank you for the updates and information so far. Does this seem like a shooter or not? It might take a full cleaning to find out. Any ideas on value?
Thanks, Jay |
Jay, it is more of a shooter than a collector, although technically, if all matching, every luger is a collectable ;)
I say more of a shooter as the finish is not pristine, and its in 7.65mm, fewer collectors of those. Still a nice gun, wouldn't hurt to pop a through rounds through her. ed |
In my opinion it does not matter that much--it is still a Luger.
