Local classifieds on line?
Curious to know if this is happening in other cities:
Here in Salt Lake City a local TV station has decided to make available a free "classified ads online" service. It is a huge success and has virtually wiped out the classifieds in our newspaper. I have bought several guns through these ads and sold several too. Please name your city and state whether or not the same phenomenon is happening there. |
David, Here in Yuma AZ there are several papers and classified periodicals, many offer free ads. Under $500 I think. I have used them myself with great success.

Jerry,
Thanks. But I am more interested to know about online classifieds specifically aimed at killing classifieds in local newspapers. i.e., digital vs print |
Several TV stations here offer "free classifieds" The pages are almost always empty!
While the local paper has more classifieds then news! What isn't advertising in one form or the other is "filler fluff" And most of it is taken straight off the wire. They are not cheap on their ads either. An ad for a garage sale wll set you back $60. TWO lines! I think the good folks of this town just use their computers to find willing partners to get into mischief with! Not me of course! |
