1908 Bulgarian
This is a good condition Bulgarian compared to how these guns usually look, I have heard.
It is a bit rougher than I like to see, but its authenticity and originality make it an interesting one. Safety mark is in Cyrillic, and reads "Fire", extractor also in Cyrillic. It has a moveable lanyard loop at the bottom of the rear grip strap, unlike the usual one found at the top. DWM is over the chamber, and the Bulgarian heraldic lion in shield is on the toggle. Also has a smaller lion rampant on the right side receiver. Grips are fair, but show a lot of wear, with a few small chips at the bottom and some dings. Gun is numbered commercial style, wood bottom mag with matching number to gun. Bore shows some frosting, but lands and grooves still sharply visible. No import marks, of course. Overall, the exterior of the gun shows a lot more wear than the inside, although it certainly had been fired many times. I suspect a lot of carrying in the Bulgarian holsters was rough on the outside of these guns. http://forum.lugerforum.com/lfupload/1_copy26.jpg http://forum.lugerforum.com/lfupload/2_copy12.jpg http://forum.lugerforum.com/lfupload/5_copy8.jpg http://forum.lugerforum.com/lfupload/6_copy6.jpg http://forum.lugerforum.com/lfupload/7_copy5.jpg http://forum.lugerforum.com/lfupload/8_copy6.jpg http://forum.lugerforum.com/lfupload/9_copy2.jpg http://forum.lugerforum.com/lfupload/15_copy2.jpg http://forum.lugerforum.com/lfupload/20_copy1.jpg |
A much better than average 1908 Bulgarian.

George is right about the better than average condition. Most of these critters have been rode hard and put up wet. I am assuming that this is a first contract piece and that 866 is the full serial number without a "C" suffix? Very nice gun and very rare with the original magazine.

Very nice, I really like this variation, let me know if you ever want to part with it

Yes, sorry I left that one out.
Full serial is 866. http://forum.lugerforum.com/lfupload/12_copy5.jpg |
Very nice pistol. I have always liked this variation since it is unique in itself with the lanyard loop at the bottom of the grip and the DWM monogram on the chamber instead of being on the toggle link. These differences set it apart from all other variations and with the matching magazine makes it very rare. Please take care of it!

Pretty! Is there a proof on the bottom of the barrel? If so, what does it look like? I thought the slide on mine was heavily reworked by the sparcity of markings....now I know that wasn't the case.

I do not see a barrel proof underneath.
Just the serial. http://forum.lugerforum.com/lfupload/17_copy4.jpg |
Star, Nice little "devil" (666). Better than most I've seen. TH

Thanks Tom.
Actually, it is a "Neighbor of the Beast", a couple blocks down, 866. :D |
