Looking for technical info of a MP40
 

Hi

The Grand pa of my best friend (who was a Maquis) has bring from the cellar the MP40 that he took from a German soldier during a skirmish.
The MP40 itâ??s in an excellent condition and it have been conserver in optimum manner but my friend would like to completely disassemble it and check all the internal pieces. So we are looking for a detailed technical draw with all the pieces and all kind of technical information that could help us.

If you have any link or information that you would like to share it would be highly appreciated.

tacfoley, you are right.
The personal posession of a fully automatic weapon like a MP40 still prohibited by Federal Law in Switzerland unless the owner have the right permit.

Can a permit for it be obtained or could it be deactivated? Here in the U.S., your only options would be to turn it in, cut up the receiver and keep the parts, or donate it to a museum, although there is some paperwork involved with the latter option that I an not familiar with.

In Switzerland the Federal law says that you are not allowed to:
- Shoot with a full auto weapon
- Have a full-auto weapon

unless you have a collection patent that should be renewed every 5 years (time restriction may vary from a Canton to another) To obtain the patent you need to pass a theory and a practical test (conservation, security, law, etc.) and obviously, demonstrate that you are a collector.
And with a collection patent you still not allowed to shoot a full auto weapon.

If you transform an automatic weapon in semi-auto the weapon will become a weapon legal for the large public but the transformation should be performed by a legal & recognized entity of the government who will add a â??Swiss stampâ??
