Simpson Repro Holster
 

Anyone got one? They are 37.50 on the Simpson web site. In black. I am looking for a cheaper repro holster for my 1918 Imperial. Got one holster at a gun show awhile back. Dark tan, was billed as a WW1 repro. Whould have been ok except my gun whould NOT FIT in it. Ughhh, i guess i got what i paid for. Now i am very gun shy about getting another with out some details and info from others. Thanks so much

I used to have a repro holster, but found the quality was lacking, so now I only buy real holsters. I suggest you find a well worn one (thus cheaper), and clean it up with dye for a carry holster.

Or alternatively try to score a Norwegian holster. They used the P08 holsters until well into the 1980's with the original straps removed and a web belt carrier riveted to the holster's back. Many have been reconfigured to the P08 style belt loops and they are usually not that expensive.

If you bought a reproduction holster for your Luger and it will not fit, you may be able to use Neatsfoot Oil to stretch the leather. Neatsfoot Oil will darken leather, so your tan holster will turn much darker. If you can tell where the holster is too small, try putting some Neatsfoot Oil on the inside of the holster, in the area where it is too small. (You can dab some on your finger tips, or use a "Q" tip. Rub it in.) This will cause the leather to become more soft, more pliable, and stretch some. It will also darken the leather a lot. But if you currently have a holster that you can't use at all it is a trade off and you may be able to salvage it this way. You can get a bottle of Neatsfoot Oil wherever shoe polish is sold. (It's also good for waterproofing leather.)

However, I would never want to use this stuff on an authentic original Luger holster!
