NEeD HELP...

My luger from Aimco is a great gun, accurate, well finished, and a joy to shoot. I noticed some stress marks along the ejector(along the right side). Well the company is very hard to contact by phone or fax and in addition they wont have any more ejectors for 2 months. Is it possible to have my gunsmith (who machines replacement parts) make a replacement? If so what would be the best material to use. The hassle just isn't worth it--Ill just have him make replacement parts and i figure Ill have him make it before the original breaks. Any suggestions?

Bob, are you sure they are stress marks and not just machining or mold marks? I have noticed this on several new aftermarket replacement ejectors for original Lugers.

The marks look like fine hairline cracks going vertically.

Is it the ejector or the extractor? As the ejector is more or less a piece of spring steel, I would think it would just break rather than develop hairline cracks.

Check with Tom Heller for which ever you need.

I don't belive your gunsmith will or can make any ejector for you.

It's a quite advanced job to get the hardening right and succeding afterward with the function.

I think you have to sit down and wait for getting an original from Aimco.
