New Collector w/ 3 Lugers (help to identify)

Hi, I recently aqquired 3 lugers. Well to be exact I inherited 3 lugers. Anyway, these are the first Lugers I have seen up close. Looking around the forums for the past day I have learned quite a bit. I must say these forums appear to be full of very nice and knowlageble people. Unless Im wrong, none of my new guns appear to be worth an exorbatant amount, so its unlikley I would try to sell any. The good news about that is.... Im now a collector!!!

Heres the first: 1914 Erfurt Artillery s/n 7503 with mostly matching numbers. The frame has a diff s/n 3975 and appears to be re-blued, and possibly the trigger side-plate is a reproduction. Sadly the stock lug was ground off. Heres a few pictures:

Also with this gun was a "snail drum." Seems like pretty nice condition, so Im not sure how old it truly is. s/n is "B/N 233102

Luger #2 is somewhat of a mystery to me. Its all matching (except magazine which appears to be old, and is silver colored with some greening) s/n is 3069. Its .30 caliber, has no date stamp, which leads me to believe its a commerical luger? It also is stamped "Germany" on the front of the frame, gun appears to be in very nice condition with wood grips. It also has a "N" with a crown over it, stamp. (stock lug, if it had one, is also gone)

The third Luger is a 1918, s/n 8913 absolutley beautiful condition which leads me to believe it was reblued at one point (however there is some interesting wear at the rear, near the saftey and opposite side) All numbers match (except magazine), nice wood grips. There is a new barrel on the gun, but the original is there also.

As I mentioned before, the magazine does not match, but from reading the forums for the last day it seems it may be somewhat collectible. Its black and says "fxo" and "p08"..... also stamped in two places with the eagle are the last 2 digits of a serial number "37" Heres a pic with a link to a larger picture as well. I dont know if magazines can be refinished, but this one is in amazing shape.

I am very much into WWII history as well as historical weapons and development. If anyone can give me some details or greater insight on these lugers I would be very happy. I know its a lot to ask for my first post but I wasnt sure if i should make 3 seperate posts or not. If it would be easier to make 3 posts in diff sections I could do that also. Anyway, love the forums, and I cant wait to learn more form everyone here.

Also if anyone wants to see more detailed pictures just ask :)

Thanks

Nick, welcome to the forum;

briefly (the wife wants me to make breakfast ;))

1. Artillery luger, as a shooter it is worth $1000-$1200
the trommel magazine itself is worth $1200-$1600

2. Commericial, could be WW1 imperial rebarreled or new manufacturer in 1920's, I'd have to look closer, but appears to be some made in 1928, 1929 time frame, worth $600-$800

3. 1918 DWM, if original worth $1000-$1200, if reblued $600-$850

nice collection, and again, welcome to the forum,

Ed
