.22 cal. Deutsches Sportmodell

A while back there was a posting of a set of sights offered on ebay as a set of Artillery Luger sights. The discussion centered on what the sights actually fit, and I offered the opinion that they had come from a .22 cal Deutsches Sportmodell by Mauser but was corrected as to what they actually were. There is now a .22 cal Mauser offered for sale with the same set of 25 to 200 meter sights at Old Guns. It is not a K98k. The rifle and sights can be seen at http://oldguns.net/catoldfa.htm

Except that the sites we were discussing before were calibrated to 2000 rather than 200 meters, and were not the same as those on the .22 cal. Deutsches Sportmodell :-(

Best regards,

Kyrie

Re: .22 cal. Deutsches Sportmodell

Go back and look at the original pictures and you will find the same 25 to 200 graduations. I guess you can call this 250 to 2000 meters if you like, but it still doesn't make it correct. The sights shown on ebay had the exact same 25 to 200 meter sights in 25 meter graduations as shown on the attached link. Original K98k sights are graduated from 100 to 2000 meters in 100 meter increments and not 250 meter increments. I have provided a link to show the sights properly installed on a .22 Mauser; so I would welcome any link you might provide to a K98k with the 25 to 200 graduated sights.
