1921 Luger Help Please

My son brought a box at an estate sale of a member of Werner Von Braun team. In the box was a 1921 Luger. I have not seen the weapon and the information is from what he has told me. The luger has 2 extra mags with matching numbers, a holster and he tells me it is in very good condition. Also in the box was a worn Nazi flag. He has asked me to investigate the value and will be bringing it to me in about a week. Just by this little info can anyone suggest a value please

Hi Tommie,

It's very difficult to put a price on it unseen. There are too many variables to consider. Condition, markings, condition of the bore can all change the value considerably. It could range from $600 to $2000+.

Very few people would place a value on it without seeing it. They could be wrong by several hundred dollars in either direction.

It's like saying , "I have a car in nice condition. What's it worth?" Good clear photos of full views of both sides, top, both grip straps, grips, front and back of the holster, and both magazines, as well as close-ups of the markings would get us in the ball park.

Welcome to the forum..

Ron

Tommie,

Welcome, indeed, to the Forum. Your description is very tantalizing, and I (and I'm sure a number of others here) look forward to the information and photos with a great deal of interest.

Tommie,

The provenance and paperwork/documentation to trace this gun back to the "Werner Von Braun team" would need to be solid, repeat solid.

Then the value of such a 1921 gun would increase above current market value if a Von Braun historian/collection would want to pay a "historical" premium for the gun based on past, proven ownership by a figure out of history.

Thanks so much for your replies. I will be getting the Luger in the next week or so and will then have more info to post. I will take pictures to post also. We are not collectors, but need an idea of value since we will probably be selling

Tomi, if you post pictures here, we can give you a good idea of value. As Pete said, it depends on if you are hoping for the luger value or the possible provinance and luger value...
