Nice accessory for Interarms Luger
Just found two boxes of Interarms 9mm ammunition from an old time gun shop which just went out of business. I never even knew Interarms distributed cartridges. I think a box of these would make the ultimate accessory for a post war Interarms Mauser luger.

Looks like good Lapua ammo, probably from the 1950, when 9mmP was not common in the US. Probably better for the gun than the 9mm Canadian SMG ammo that they shipped with my first luger in 1959. TH

Nice find!

Hi,
I've seen some examples of ammuntion packaged for Interarms before. I had several boxes of Russian made 7,63 Mauser surplus ammo that was repackaged and labeled for Interarms in the 1960s. |
Nice...

Speaking of ammo boxes...
I found myself trying to make a deal on a nice un-opened box of Swiss Luger ammo at a gun show about 1 year ago. I was willing to pay $ 100 for the box (which was Ordnance, dated 1924). Seller insisted on $ 200 especially since the clear plastic "factory" shrink-wrapping was still 100% intact. Of course such wrappings were not used...but he won the price-argument and I did not buy his box...;) |
Pete,
Nice. I recently scored a box of Swiss .30 luger from 1997. Still sealed, but not shrink wrapped either :) These boxes go for 25 - 50 Euros here, still relatively affordable. http://forum.lugerforum.com/lfupload/swiss.jpg |
Here is the Mauser 7,62 x 25 Interarms Wrap.
Sorry for the size, but it keeps the text readable. http://forum.lugerforum.com/lfupload...wrap_small.jpg |
Hi Gerben,
Very nice collection of Swiss ammo. If I am correct, it is most difficult for a private USA collector to have such old ammo brought into our country from abroad. I find my ammo boxes from old collectors that have had them for many, many years when it was "easy" to bring such items into our Country. Finding old Swiss ammo for the Swiss revolvers is most difficult, but I have been lucky 2 times at gun shows. |
GvV, I'm familiar with the Interarms 7.62x25mm ammo. It is surplus SMG ammo and much too hot for a broom. I shoot it in my Soviet block pistols and my shoot a few PROOF rounds in a broom that I just repaired. Tom

Hi Jerry,
It was pretty nasty stuff, corrosive primers as well :) |
The box that I posted a photo of, above, arrived at my home...
To my surprise/delight...it is full of ammo...never opened... I thought I won an empty box on eBay... |
Pete, as usual you have ALL the luck!
It must be nice to be you... :D |
Steve,
I thought I was silly wining the auction for $0.99 and then having to pay $ 7 for S&H... Ad said it was a "shell box"...I assumed it was empty...I really feel much better about that S&H costs, now... If you surf eBay and the foreign eBay sites for "Interarms"...some nice stuff shows up from time to time. Same with eGun...in Germany... I was able to find Mauro a nice 300+ page book about Sam Cummins and his arms trade business, Interarms...I sent him a private note as I figured he would want to jump on that item...he won it... |
Pete, I think that's one of the reasons your "pool" from which to draw is so much wider than mine. You are a polyglot... :)
I've been working on my German language skills but they're still pretty poor. I dont' have the time to learn a new language the way I'd like... |
Steve,
For a minute I was trying to figure out why I would be called a polywog...:) My one and only language is American...know a few words in Dutch and Italian...and a few naughty words in Indonesian... My wife helps with Italian... ...then I use translators... This translation utility really helps too...if you read/translate a German, French, or Italian sales ad, the translation comes out about 70%...enough to figure out what the seller is trying to convey... If you build up some certain key words such as "pistolentache" in German or "shutzenfest" also in German...lots of stuff pops up on the foreign sites... http://babelfish.altavista.com/ |
