Parts catalogue for maintence
For the Lugers put into service in the norwegian army after ww2, several manuals where made.
This one is a parts catalogue from 1964 covering level 1-5 maintence. (sorry if the pictures are too big. Not all of us have a eyes like eagles;) ) http://forum.lugerforum.com/lfupload/img_0924.jpg Don't tell me.. I know, you probably can't read this page. Those who can, can read something about how the catalogue is set up. Information about standards and references.. all in the beatifull overdetailed military way of writing. What is refered to, is the 1-2 level maintance manual and a general maintance manual for higher level maintence. http://forum.lugerforum.com/lfupload/img_0925_copy1.jpg If you are still reading, this page is a bit more interesting. It shows how big the storage of parts should be according to 1-5 level of reserves. One excample is, if there is 125 Lugers, that has a 'value' 2 for storage of 100. They take (125*2)/100=2.5 So three of that particular part should be in reserve. Further, parts are splitted in NX=permanent material, R=spendable material and NR=spendable material that is not reusable. http://forum.lugerforum.com/lfupload/img_0926_copy1.jpg Then comes this page that puzzles me.. there are various divisions a number connected to it. Looks like it could be the amount of Lugers in the particular 'division'. Under that is how many of this manual that should go to certain places. From that I estimate that about 50 of this catalogue where distributed. http://forum.lugerforum.com/lfupload/img_0927.jpg ..still reading? well.. then comes several pages like this for all parts + accessories. http://forum.lugerforum.com/lfupload/img_0929.jpg It's a scarce item, perhaps not interesting for all.. but some might find it interesting what happend to the Lugers after ww2, and how they where maintained. ..if you have your own arsenal of Lugers, and wonder how many grip screws you need in reserve pr 200 Lugers, just send me a msg ;) |
This is the manuals refered to in the catalogue. The small one is quite common and contains general information about the Luger + level 1-2 maintance. The other one is rare, contains more detailed maintence instructions. Up to the right, "for trial" is written.

Steinar,
Nice documentation! If you ever come across a copy of either of those, let me know. |
Steinar,
Simply nice!! Interesting documentation. Thank you for share. Ciao Mauro |
Thanks:) Took some time finding all three parts of this little puzzle.
Gerben; Don't think I will find a second copy of the catalogue and the largest manual. But I have some extra copies of the more common smallest manual, covering the 1-2 level maintance + technical spesifications and operation. Last page has a fold out exploded diagram, you may have seen it on ebay.. some has poped up there over the years. Let me know if interested. Perhaps a trade? :) |
