In-Coming French Holster...

This one is not in the best of shape...but it is the only one I have seen for sale in 5-6 years of my Luger interest...

French post WWII Luger holster...

I should have it home in a week or so. I am hopeful my cleaing techiques will make this one look a lot nicer when I am finished with it...

Pete -

May I ask where in the world did you find this holster?

Wow! A unique score! Pete, you do have a way of finding the most unusual accoutrements.

Echoing Ron's sentiment, "How do you do it?" :D

Patrice,

I am hoping it is "GIL"...will let you know.

Ron,

French eBay site...

Steve,

Speaking of accoutrements...

Here is a Swiss shooting taler made in 1901 that is on its way to my home.

It is pictured on page 74 in the little book "Swiss Shooting Talers & Medals" by Delbert Ray Krause, 1965...

I thought it perfect to go along with one of my M1900 Swiss Lugers made in 1901...

Pete Very nice holster. Bill

Pete Ebbink 11-20-2007 08:49 PM

Thanks, Bill...

I will spend a few more days on cleaning and reconditioning the leather...but the first round sure has made a difference in the color and suppleness of the leather...it was initially quite dirty and very dry.

BTW...does anyone have any info. on the firm of "GIL" ?

Is GIL a family/firm name or an acronym ?

When did this firm make holsters ?
