Sending Brass??

Can you legally send un-primed brass thru the USPS reg mail??? Or is it defined as ammo, loaded or un-loaded, primmed or unprimmed?? Best to all...til...lat'r...GT

GT, My guess would be yes. It is neither hazardous nor is it explosive, flammable or corrosive. I can't see why the PO would have any reason to forbid it. In my small local PO they do not even ask about what might be in a package. Of course there are the usual posters showing what cannot be shipped but empty brass would fall into the catagory of something like brass washers. They are inert. Jerry Burney

G.T.,

It's perfectly legal to mail unprimed brass through USPS. If someone should ask, just say it's pieces of brass. Since a lot of people don't know an cartridge case from a hand grenade, don't mention anything about ammunition, cartridge cases, shell cases, etc.

Window clerks are trained to be suspicious, so key words might lead them to the wrong thoughts.

With "my beloved USPS" the less said the better.

I've received several batches of brass via USPS. One was in the crudest container you can imagine. I wondered if it had been inspected by them...

Brass shipping!

Thanks Guys! That's kinda what I thought, I like to comply as best I can... I'm already kind of a heathen, don't want to be an outlaw too! ;) BTW, I'm only a heathen when there's food around, otherwise, I'm pretty good about that also! Best to all, til...lat'r...GT ;)
