Question regarding fxo marked magazine.
 

Could I get some insight on this fxo-marked, E37 magazine that I have. It came with the â??kâ?? block byf 42 rig that I recently acquired.

My question pertains to the aluminum baseâ?¦ there are no serial numbers or other markings applied on it. Iâ??ve looked at it under a 10x loop and it appears unmolested. So with that said, was it common type and would it be correct for my rig

I donâ??t have any Luger reference materials at the moment (however that will change very shortly). Thanks for any responses in advance!

tacdriver, magazines like the one you pictured could have been either armor replacements OR shipped with late 41 byf or early 42 byf Mausers. Chances are pretty good your K-Block 42 byf was shipped with two black plastic bottom byf magazines. Personally, I like the blank aluminum bottom magazines. I would keep it as is!! :)

Excellent information and thank you for time and clarification!

It is a neat example I had my suspicions as to armor replacements however not having good reference material I was truly unsure. And what compelled me to ask the question was I had recalled reading somewhere that a MO 41 or 42 could have also exhibits these types of magazines. However I was going off memory and once again uncertain.

I do appreciate you placing when the production runs would have had these type magazines, and in thinking about it... in the grand scheme, it kind of makes sense.

Hi Tac, The information Frank has given you is right as rain! When they brought black plastic bottoms on line to replace the aluminum, and also decided to delete the serial numbers... I'm sure they had an abundance of both types, and consiquently a mixture of both types... I find the mag's like the one you pictured to be one of the most interesting mags of the period..mid to late war... Best to you, til...lat'r....GT BTW, Hi Frank!
