Mauser HSC

I was looking at a Mauser HSc, with Eagle N and Wafenamt 135 stamps. I was just wondering if anyone would know who would of been issued this type of pistol. It seems too small for front line use. Would they have been mostly police, rear echelon troops or is there just no way to guess. Just courios more than anything.
Thanks....Chip

Chip, The Germans did not have the American feeling about pistol calibers. They thought a .32 or .380 was enough for general use. In some ways they were right. Just having a pistol of any caliber was good enough under most circumstances. They were light weight and handy.
Hence Tac's observation that they were issued to personnel that were not front line for the most part.
Not really a combat arm, they were a badge of authority and when displayed probably disuaded the average Joe from further molestation.
At close range, a .32 can be a very lethal weapon. At least better than pointing your finger and loudly exclaiming BANG.
