Interesting conversion / repair

Seller states it's WW2, but it's earlier than that. Shows signs of repair / conversion. Any ideas?

Actually, it is quite a bit earlier. It is a converted 1879 Reichsrevolver holster. In addition to the added section on the front and back of the holster, you can tell by the stitching holes where the top reinforcement was removed and the squared off toe where the holster was shortened from the long barreled Reichsrevolver configuration. I have been wanting to acquire an example of a converted holster like this and would love to bid on this one, but since the seller doesn't use Paypal I have no idea how I would pay for it if I won.

Ron,
Check the seller's feedback.
If he has a good track record, you can confidently mail him a USPS money order.
I've done it lots of times. Never been screwed.

Make sure it is an International Postal money order.

If you send a Domestic postal MO, banks will not cash it for the seller.

BTW...are those faint unit markings in the leather...???...

Ron Wood 07-26-2007 08:40 PM

They might be unit markings, but I can't make out anything other than the "3" and the two "10" with period marks. They do not look like a unit mark format, but it might be because they are so faint and there might be more to them than what we can see in the photo.
