Portuguese Luger Information on NET

http://www.viriatus.com/parabellum02.asp Some of you may have already known about this site on Portuguese Lugers, but I just found it, yes itâ??s in Portuguese but if you plug the link into â??Goggleâ? you can translate it reasonably well. Just be careful as translators donâ??t always convert well. It has some very specific dates I was not fully aware of and a couple of contradictions when compared to English reference books. For example Mo908 instead of Mo909. I would be interested in a forum review of this site and any comments you may have. I like the site myself, but am interested in your comments. Thanks Vern |
Interesting stuff! This is the first time that I have seen a production number (30) associated with the Carlos the First crested Portuguese, and that this 1900 model was actually ordered in 1906. Also I was not aware that the Royal Portuguese Navy Luger had a 9mm script magazine (I'm not so sure that is correct, but then there are lots of things I don't know).

Hello Ron,
Yes, the Portuguese Royal Navy Lugers can also be equipped with a 9 mm script magazine. My Royal Navy rig has a circle-triange proof mark on the magazine base for the magazine in the pistol, and the two spare magazines in the pouch are 9 mm script. Cheers, Albert |
