I also have my first Luger with a 63 serial number of both barrel and body. Crown and N and Germany with a small looks like a ball with wings. It is 7.65 with a 3 3/4 barrel. Any info would be appreciated.

welcome Glenn, I have moved your request to its own thread and also moved it from the commericial area to new collectors.

Can you provide pictures, because your description is too open to several variations of lugers.

Hello Ed,
Thanks for the reply. I will try to send photos--have good digital camera, but have never tried to send to someplace like the forum. Any suggestions?

try reading these threads, they might help. Trick is, take high res pictures, then crop, then make smaller. It is difficult for some folks to keep the steps correct, esp if they do not use these features often...

It would also be helpful to include the suffix letter on front of frame, below the numeric part. TH

Hello Forum,
Are these pictures enough to establish a date?

Hi Glenn,
According to Jan Still's Weimar lugers it was made in 1925.

Hi Glenn,
Most Alphabet Commercials that are all original, that I see on auction sites and for sale, have a range of $900-$1200. I see some asking a lot more, but I don't know if they actually sell for that much.

Hi Mike,
Again thanks for the info. Are there any auction sites that you recommend?

Gunbroker and Auctionarms are the first two that came to mind. Not that I recommend them, but I do watch them a lot. There's also Guns America that's more like classified ads.
You can also sell it here on this forum if that's what you want to do, as long as you give a price. (No auctions allowed.)

Hello Mike,
I would like to sell it. I would like $1200 and would include a box of Winchester ammo for it.
I was mainly interested in the history as it was found in a friend's attic under some insulation in a metal box, well oiled where it had apparently been since the end of WWII. Is there a special protocol to list it for sale?

Glenn
