E/N found on front sight
I'm currious to learn more about this type of marking, but didn't want to hijack an excisting thread about it..
(http://forum.lugerforum.com/showthre...threadid=17490 ) Pete have it on a swiss Mauser banner Luger, also on this police Mauser banner Luger (wich I stole the picture below from). Is this a typical mark found on Mauser banner pistols? http://forum.lugerforum.com/lfupload...bore_copy1.jpg |
The 1941 Police Banner I have has the same eagle on the front sight.

Steinar,
My apologies for being lazy and not posting up my photo, in the other discussion. Here it is...barrel is 7,6 mm (as a Swiss gun...) and the muzzle end is polished and not blued. http://forum.lugerforum.com/lfupload/3721_v_10.jpg |
That's ok Pete, I forgive you for now :D
..it looks like the same birdie, the 7.65mm barrel makes more room for it. One month ago, I sold the police Mauser luger on the picture below; http://images.qxlricardo.com/ImgUser...4168_3_Big.jpg Thinking it was just a police marking.. I didn't gave it much tought. Untill you guys came up with your e/N marking. I also notice now, that that Luger where blued in the muzzle.. can't remember the date, but I think it was a 41 |
My DWM 1918 has 20 on it and wondered why?? Neat to see other markings. Rick B

Steinar,
To answer your question, yes that is a standard proof found on the front sight of Mauser Police Banner Pistols manufactured after April 1940. Lyn |
