Rod, I don't remember the guys name, but a search for Nambu will usually bring it up. I like to shoot the nambu, it is a nice flat shooting pistol.

Ed, on a search of Gunbroker using "8mm Nambu ammo" I got a hit for a guy in Guymon, OK (no pun intended). He states he loads with brass headstamped for Nambu. I can't remember tha actual hadstamp, he emphasizes it's not from converted cases. $35 for fifty if I recall correctly. $8.50 for shipping, I believe.

Midway search didn't show any ammo for this.

sorry, I should have said, the midway is all 5-15 year old stuff. I have 3 or 4 boxes of it, it goes for around $45-$50 a box when you can get it.

Jerry and I popped off some original 8mm nambu last summer, I think we shot 2 rounds of baby nambu also?

There are several postings on Banzai about using the newer ammo, and the professor in Canada, she has an entire page on reloading. I can find that if you want.

Mrnambu on auction arms

Ed, I don't have dies, etc for the Nambu round. I figgered the cost would be prohibitive. No?

If I get into reloading it, I'll definitely want the data.

It apears mrnambu is a buck cheaper on shipping from auction arms than on Gunbroker.

Rod, Like Ed says we loaded a hundred rounds or so..I used the old Midway brass, headstamped 8MM Nambu. I have tried the cases made from other brass, .40 S&W I believe and the extractor cannalure is too wide for proper extraction. I didn't like them. Stick with original configuration if you can.
Dies can be spendy..Maybe a hundred bucks! Could be a couple of hundred bucks just to get into it.

Thanks, Jerry. A few years ago I bought a set of 8X56R Hungarian dies for my Styer 95, a beater. I think the dies cost as much as the rifle. I worked up a good, safe load and haven't shot it since, though I do like it a lot.

I was actually going to buy a hundred Nambu rounds and have the smith shoot it with me in case there were "kinks."

I just purchased some 8mm Nambu from Buffalo Arms. Ordered and received within the week. I shot 16 rounds of it and was very pleased with it.
