Stoger

Looked at a post war Luger today. Marked "Stoger American Eagle" on the right side and a serial number. No other marks or numbers. Looks like they took a Luger buffed all markings off then plated it. The wooden base magazine is also marked Stoger. What is it and how much is it worth as a shooter?

Carl, lets see if I can remember this right;

Stoegers were made out of stainless steel, then the same gun was made by Orimar and then by Aimco or something to that effect (Mitchell is another one of the names).

They have a poor record as "shooters", as they jam frequently. That said, I have never owned one, and this is 2nd or 3rd hand information.

Tac and Rick, thanks for setting the record straight, my apoligies for mixing the apples into oranges.

Thanks Ed, Tac, Rick W.

I made an offer at that low end. If accepted I'll probably just keep it as a curio.
