Reblueing

I am new to the forum and need advise. I have a
DWM 1916 dated Luger that has been reblued and it also has a new manufactured barrel (marked "made in Germany"). It is all matching except for the barrel. The marking are clear and not buffed out. I would like to rust blue this. I have rust blued a 1918 BAR, and a 1918 1911 Colt. what would be the best way to remove the current blueing with out diminishing the proofs. I also have a WWI barrel I would like to put on.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

I have been happy with the results of vinegar.

Birchwood Casey Blue and Rust Remover also works well, no abrasives needed.
And supposedly you could just slice yourself and bleed on it abunch ....
No ?
