Holster on eBay
Does anyone know what gun belongs in this holster that a LF member is auctioning off ???
http://cgi.ebay.com/Magnificent-Heis...QQcmdZViewItem |
If I look at the faint traces in the leather, I'm starting to think 'Borchardt'.
The only other pistols I can think of are a Bolo Mauser, a Schwarzlose or an early Steyr. Weird. |
Hi Gerben,
The holster's listed overall length is indicated as 10.5 inches long. I was thinking a Broomhandle pistol...maybe...??? |
If it's a broomhandle, I'd go for a Bolo, slightly shorter barrel.
|
I beleive it might be broomhandle mauser

What about a Bergmann ???
|
Ed I must say "You Hit It On The Head" But I don't beleive theres a chance of that.
|
This one is curious as HH Heiser normally stamped a model-code number on the back of the holster...usually below the belt loop...
I have 4-5 old HHH catalogs...and cannot find a match there, unfortunately... |
Almost looks like a holster for a pistol stock. Like the description says no place for a pistol butt to stick out.
|
There are no markings whatsoever on the back guys. (My holster)
Just gets curiouser and curiouser. |
I think Rolandtg had a good thought with the shoulder stock idea. Bill

Here is my latest guess...
Because of the leather case's small size dimensions, I am more inclinded to think it might be a leather case to hold a rifle scope on one's belt while hunting and not wanting the scope mounted to the rifle to protect it during hiking and traveling...???...??? |
I did a small test, transferring the dimensions of the holster to a sheet of A4 and placing a standard barelled C96 on it. The C96 would fit, if the barrel was shorter, as the shorter-barreled Bolo-version. The grip would pop out of the side from underneath the flap.
A scope + mount would be a possibility I guess. Perhaps the person who bought it might know? :) |
David,
Maybe in your emails with the buyer, you may have learned for sure what the buyer thought it might be for ??? |
This mystery may never be solved. I've had no feedback from the buyer. I like the shoulder stock theory, but I think the holster was too short for that.
|
David,
IIRC...you were looking for HH Heiser catalogues on CD-ROM. Here is a 200-paged one offered on eBay : Not sure if holsters are included or not...maybe an email to the seller before placing a bid... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...0%3D%26fvi%3D1 |
