A true vet bring back given to his grand daughter, 1937 S/42 100% matching and 99% condition walked, with some assistance, into my shop today, all that was wrong was the hold open spring was missing, everything matched but second mag, mint bore, holster is a 1938 Weiss marked, with vets SN lightly scratched on back bottom of holster.....few are left but their still out there, and as yet it is not for sale, but she may change her mind

1st or 2nd variation? just wonderin'..

what is the diff between 1&2, sn is 3777h....

In the S/42's, 1937 was the transition year for the strawed parts. 1st variation = strawed. 2nd variation = blued.

Policeluger I'll keep my fingers and toes crossed for "YA" these sure do not turn up anymore to often. Just got a ac 43 P-38 rig in 95% condtion from a vet who got it at the battle of the bulge. White stiched hard shell holster with the spare magazine. Said he also had a luger but has not seen it in 40 years. don't remember what happen to it.

Hi Howard, please check that serial number!! The H-Block is NOT a 1937!! If it's a late(r), all blue 1937, the serial number is probably higher than 9800s and lower than 400b.

Frank, going to WOL this morning, it could be "z"?? I am not sure now, it is all blue, sn is 3777 .....looking at WOL for about the 10th time, it looks like the right hand side sample of the two given, if this is of enough interest to you I could ask my wife to photo it and send it to you, for the life of me I can't post a picture here on LF...it is again a 1937
