POLL - M1906 DWM-Swiss Cross/Sunburst Lugers

Please join us in helping provide some info. about your M1906 DWM-Swiss Luger (Cross/Sunburst variety only).

I am helping Members Mike and Armin to establish if a variety in the numbering of the TD levers and the trigger side plate exist and came from the factory.

Most commercial contract Lugers will have the 2-digits of the TD lever and the trigger side plate placed on the bottom edge with the tops of these numbers pointing away from the side of the pistol (...I call this rightside-up).

Mike, Armin, and others theorize that some of these M1906 DWM-Swiss cross/sunburst lugers left the factory with un-numbered TD levers and the 2 digits on the trigger side plate upside-down...that is with the tops of their numbers pointing towards the side of the pistol.

If you own a M1906 DWM-Swiss cross/sunburst Luger, please take a moment and fill out the Poll.

Please remember to indicate if you think your Luger is in a factory-original condition or a Swiss Ordnance rework or other rework.

Thanks in advance for your help !!! :)

Pete,
Shouldn't this poll include both Cross in Sunburst and Cross in Shield? Mike's Swiss is a Cross in Shield, serial #9191, and the one that started this topic.

Ron,

I am setting up another Poll for the cross/shields...

Will also try to figure out how to set one up for the '24 Bern with the Polling limits I have to work within...

Maybe another Poll for the M1900's as well.

Pete,

I really appreciate the "Do not own/want to see results" line. An excellent idea, thanks for thinking of it.

Sorry I was so quick on the trigger. Should have known you would cover the bases.

By the way, I agree with Dwight about the "Do not own..." option. You are getting good at this stuff.

OK, had a senior moment and selected the wrong serial number range. Picked 1908 no TD # side plate upside down...should have been 1907 (#6392). Don't want to skew the results, so perhaps you can edit the poll.

Also, you may want to include the W+F Bern in your poll. I have #15640 in what I think is factory original finish with unnumbered take down and upside down side plate number. It would seem that the Swiss reputation for precision does not extend to consistent small parts numbering!
