SIG Handguns
 

I'm reviewing guns that are well suited for concealed carry. I have a Colt MKIII 380 and a Colt Pony Pocketlite. Recently I looked Sig P232 380 which I believe is made in Germany. The fit and finish compared to my Colts is like night and day!

Any folks here that have a Sig and can recommend their products?

I've got an old Sig 220 .45 ACP. I carry it in a Galco paddle hoster on a fairly regular basis. After about 5 min. I forget that it is there. So I would think a Sig .380 would be a breeze. The 220 has never had a glitch with any type of ammo I have fired.

IMO, Sig s are far and away one of the best , most reliable, best engineered handguns on the market.

Ain't no Luger,.... but this ain't 1925 neither.

I had a Sig 226 in 9mm and I thought it was a great gun. Mine was also German made. The thing I liked most about Sig is its one of the decreasingly few new semi guns on the market that is actually metal instead of polymer...

I to like Ron have Sig 220 in.45 which I sometimes carry one sweet .45 and like Ron says flawless eats just about anything . If I had to pick one gun out of the many I own for defence this would be it.

I did pick up a new P232 stainless/alloy, .380. I compared Kahr, Walther and SIG. The Kahr slide felt it was riding on rough rails when racked. The Walther trigger guard was too small for my finger. Both were heavier than the SIG P232. The overall fit and finish on the SIG was obvious. It is better. Don't know where the Kahr and Walther are made. The SIG has "Made in Germany" on the slide. I like that. Maybe I'm biased!


Anyhow, the SIG replaces my Colt MarkIV Series 80 as a concealed gun.

I shot one of the SIG P-232's in .380 a few years back at a local indoor shooting range with rental guns up in Seattle.

I found this gun's double-action trigger pull quite LONG and it made my first-shot just awful...

Not sure where they are made either. I like Kahrs, but can't get past the owner. Kahr Arms is , or was , owned by Rev. Sun Myung Moon of Unification Church fame. The "Moonies" own it, or did.

.380 caliber and 9mm Kurz

No difference between .380 and 9mm Kurtz. Kurtz is German for "Short".

.380 and 9mm Short. Just different names for the same cartridge.

Like 9mm Parabellum , 9mm Luger and 9x19. All the same....

Cool story about your PP Tac! Compairing a German Made PP/PPK/PPKs to the modern S&W U.S. made Walthers is like night & day in my opinion. Personally as far as post war pistols go, I liked the German made Walther PP series that was imported by Interarms.

It's not a SIG but it is a great CCW piece.

I have been carrying a Keltec P3AT 380 for a couple of months now. Owning much less carrying a "plastic" pistol is way out of character for me as I really like steel pistols. What made my mind up was it can easily be carried in the front or rear pocket(jeans, shorts etc..), is double action only, and very light not to mention it is also very accurate. Still can't believe I bought a plastic pistol.

One for every carry situation. Inside-the-pants, strong side paddle, small-of-the-back and shoulder. Don Hume leather, best stuff on the planet... :D

And they actually MAKE a holster for my gun, several in fact. I've seen very few holsters for my carry gun.

They sure make carrying easier. Mine weighs a lot, but still way less than any other steel gun. I've been looking at those KelTecs for a while now. Seems I saw a .45 version at the SHOT Show this year too... :)

I have a Sig P220 .45ACP and have no complaints. The non-"conceal carry" model may be too big for some but I'm 6'1" and it is held close to my body with a desantis pancake holster.
