Record Selling Price Ebay Arty Stock

Check it out, Ebay number 190097370331 sold for $1136.11 and it's a reproduction! An expensive learning experiance.

And I just sold one for $100!!!

lugerholsterrepair 04-04-2007 11:04 AM

George, Learning experience? The ad plainly states.." This stock appears to be NOS (New, Old Stock)." How much learnin would someone need to know this is not an original stock? And not worth 1100 bucks! Sounds like the idiot who bought it needs to pay some tuition. It's pretty obvious he's not wastin his money on books! Jerry Burney

Twenty-one bids!!! Theres a whole bunch of studying needed around here. Even originals go for less than that. No wonder Ebay now put bidder and a number in the bidder info section (no names). Nobody can laugh at the bidders.

Holy, Moly... :(

I think I have one that I'll let of for an even grand...

lew1 04-04-2007 08:16 PM

Norm''There may have been 21 bids, but there was only 8 bidders, with bidders no. 7 & 8 - running the price up.

I get the feeling that there may have been some shill bidding going on and it got out of hand. Bidder 1 and 6 have over 100 in there history, 2 and 3 have about 40 each. The rest have less than ten each. Just seems very odd, even the Q & A states that it is a 1970's repro.

champ7fc 04-05-2007 04:30 PM

Speaking of shill bidding, I have been bidding on some Luger side plates that I will not bid over a certain amount. On several lost bids I have seen the bidding skyrocket and after the auction is over I get a message from the seller that he has another identical plate and offers it to me for my losing bid price. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.Me thinks I smell a RAT

stefanosg 04-05-2007 04:40 PM

Yeah that'll happen. A guy at work wanted me to do that for him and I wouldn't. I test the waters by setting a high reserve price. Its kinda a win win for me. I see what the market will bear and if it goes over the reserve, then I get more than I expected.

A lot of Ebay people out there have more Dollars than Sense .

Brent B. 04-06-2007 02:33 PM

I wonder how long it will take for him to realize he paid to much. Brent B.

OLDJARHEAD 04-06-2007 02:37 PM

If he paid that much maybe never .
