Unit mark 79 . R . M . C . (and much smaller) 80

Am I correct that it is an early 08 and any idea of the unit?

Infantry Regiment 79, Machine gun Company, Weapon 80. The 79th Regiment was part of the 20th Infantry Division and saw action on both fronts during the First World War. It's a very nice early first model '08 marked to a unit that was rated as first class by the US War Department.
