Unit Mark 3. R.R.
1 Attachment(s)
I purchased this Luger yesterday. It`s an Erfurt 1917 / 1918 / 1920, with a unit mark 3. R. R. 16. 24. This means 3. (schweres) Reiter Regiment. (3rd Heavy Cavalry Regiment), garrisoned in Thorn, Western Prussia. The Luger has all matching numbers except the Extractor. This Luger isn`t a perfect ten and the barrel is in a very bad shape, but I think it`s an interesting piece of history. I don`t know, how to upload more than one pic in a single thread, so I will post two further pics separately. I am very sorry about the circumstances, but I hope you`ll enjoy the pics.
Thanks for looking, Oberleutnant |

Hi Tom,
A very interesting and neat Luger. Congratulations! However, the unit mark translates to: 3rd Squadron / Reiter Regt. 16 weapon #24. Reichswehr / Reichsheer unit marks are reversed from Imperial unit marks , with Squadron or Company first and then Regtiment. Ron |
