Harkens back to when that magazine was read by men in barber shops not metrosexuals in salons. Rubish!

And to top off this gentlemans ensemble, a German Luger..Priceless.

" PAIRED WITH A $2,300 SUIT, A GUN BECOMES A THING OF BEAUTY "

They have that wrong. It should read...

"PAIRED WITH A $3,500 DWM LUGER, EVEN A FAGGY SUIT BECOMES A THING OF BEAUTY"

:D

1. The Luger is probably a movie prop...

2. Anyone who spends $2300 on a suit doesn't deserve a real Luger...

3. For what that outfit costs I can get a suit that looks better than that AND a nice Luger...

4. When you die, your family won't thank you for owning expensive suits.

5. When our villain touches that thing off, holding it where he's holding it, it's going to be a loooooong time before he stops hearing the bells of Notre Dame.

Very sharp Tac

There is something about this image combined with the design of a luger that creates subliminal thoughts. It is a James Bondish attraction in that only somebody with a fantastic ego and self assuredness to a level of abject derison would consider using one for real. So Susan has presented us with an image that we really think we could have been (if we would not have been who we are) and if we would have been that we really would have carried a luger. Sure, I'd look just as good in that suit. And I'd be just a suave with that unloaded luger. Of course the attache case is full of money, and there is a stunningly beautiful late twentyish but extremely experienced with an air of innocence female with a languid smile on her cherubic face sleeping on a massive old European bed in the background. Now, having accomplished my mission in obtaining her money, and of course completely dressing without considering she might wake because after, well, accomplishing the mission and getting her money she now is devoted to me for the rest of her life and will never be satisfied with another man, I now am confidently exiting the 1958 era hotel room in a
formerly eastern block country, and then unexpectedly - but not with surprise (too cool for that) I meet her former lover and partner in crime who is standing before me. As he realizes I have the money and had his girl he clumisly attempts to draw down with some tupperware pistol but, of course, the luger. Nice picture.

There is more to the story that plays out in this ad. Unfortunately it is a little more sinister. There is, as you suggest, a case of money, and there is another player. You can follow the photos from the link I gave, go to the lower right to see #10- Point blank. Click there to follow all of the pages.

I posted it here because I thought it was more appropriate for the members here than for whom I suspect to be the average reader of the magazine.

I like Roadkill's version better than the story they profer.

As Tac so astutely points out, the Luger has no round in the chamber... but! worse than that, The fellow is helpless, unarmed as it were.. as he cannot chamber a round while holding the suitcase! It takes two hands!
RK, work that into your story...Jerry Burney
