misfeed
Gentlemen,
I have a commercial luger in .30 caliber, Shot it the other day, and it stove pipes rounds, When you manually **** it on the first round, it works fine. After firing, it malfunctions. Tried three different mags, same result. The throat appears smooth to sight, and touch. Mag to throat alignment looks okay. Using Fiocchi ammo. Is there a problem with this ammo being under powered? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Clarence |

Hi:
If the ammo is too weak, and the ammo you are using is too weak, extraction and hold-open will not be reliable. Also, if substituting the ammo doesn't solve the problem, I'd check the strength of the extractor spring. I had a weak one last year, in one of my 9mms, and it lead to a similar problem. A little while ago, some Finnish 7.65 was available through a few distributors, in fact, Samco of Miami Florida had some the last time I checked. This ammo is within spec. and should operate your pistol properly. Sieger |
Clarence, Also check the recoil spring, if original 7.65mm, it should have 17 turns. If 19 or more, it's probably from a 9mm. TH
