Repro Arty Rig...
 

As some of you know by my endless rantings, I've put together a reproduction Artillery rig to go with my Christmas present, a 1917 DWM.

I have the pictures for it now and thought I'd share it with you all. Even though it ain't much, it is mine and I'm happy with it (for the dollar investment anyway). :)

Steve..Sweet! You still do not have your carry straps properly affixed. Need some more help? Jerry

Jerry, I've given up on getting them right. Of the four pictures I've seen that show it, each is done differently. So far this works for me.

If we ever get together I'll let you have at it but for the meantime I've just given up. :)

The straps should not come up between the stock and the holster. They come up and out on the stock side. Jerry Burney

I usually only quit when I'm ahead. It's attached and I haven't thrown it against the wall (yet) in frustration. :)

Very nice looking rig. At least with a reproduction, you can take it out and play without worrying about loosing value. I have a repro rig for my arty also.

So I spent hours typing up directions to install this correctly and giving advice and you quit on me? OK...this does not bode well for the next member who asks me how to install artillery leathers on a repro rig.I guess repro owners are not as serious about their collecting as some others... Jerry, do you have a picture of one put together? The hours you spent typing didn't seem to help. :D

Seriously, I can only see two ways of putting these things together and I've tried both, neither of which seems to be right.

At the moment it's tight and appears to hold it all together very well. Kind of a "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" scenerio. No offense meant to you at all...

Very nice, my birthday is in a couple of weeks. I may have to treat myself.

Heck, for $45 you can't go wrong. I will say that the stitching on the inside where flap is, just over the toggle when the gun is in place, needs some protection. After a few ins and outs the stitching is getting rubbed. I'm going to find some clear tape to protect it at that point until I can stretch the leather away.
