Grips- Saftey Type And Not

I have a 1916 Luger that I need to replace the grips on - I have a chance to purchse a set of grips for cheap but these grips are from an older Luger that had a "grip saftey".

Question - are the wood grips on the older lugers that have the "grip safty" interchangable with the grips on luger's that do not have the "grip saftey" - If they are not interchagable, can the older grips be modified to fit?

tshock, if you get the '06 grips and they are in good condition, I will trade you a pair of '08 grips for them.

Hi,

The major difference is that the grip safety grips have inlets (or at least the left side does) that allow the grip safety to move between grip and frame.

They will fit on an '08 pattern, but the gap between left grip and frame, where the grip safety goes, will be visible.

If I remember correctly, the safety shouldn't be affected.

TS, If the right grip is from a M1900, it would have to be altered inside to fit a PO8 frame. As GA said above, if the GS grips are in nice shape, it would be a shame to alter them. I also have a large selection of original and new repro grips available for trade. TH
