what would be reasonable price for a mint, 99%, 1920 commerical 30 cal.. the gun was not made, i am advised for export but rather was sold within Germany. Thanks

I saw one like that go for just under $1,300 on GunBroker about a year ago... I'm not sure if todays prices would put it higher or not.

$1,300 for such a gun with no other interesting characteristics is robbery. Half that is more reasonable.

If 99% then it should be top end, I say around $900 to $1100, maybe a bit more. "1920" commericials are the most common and found in very nice condition, frequently. Their value will not go up like others.

I just bought a 80% 1923 Luger in .30Cal for $700 on Auction Arms. Mine does have an import mark under the barrel.

Some guys keep buying "run of the mill" 1920's commercial lugers over at Simpsons in the $ 1100-1400 price range.

Having said that, there are Dwight-type bargains out there still. This 1920's commerical went for only
$ 805 in the past October 2006 James D. Julia auction :

" *1920 COMMERCIAL DWM LUGER. Cal. 30 Luger. SN 8029i. Blue finish with 3-3/4â?� tapered rnd bbl, fixed sights & full checkered walnut grips with one correct, unmarked, wood base magazine. Right side of receiver is marked â??GERMANYâ?�. CONDITION: Fine to very fine, all matching except grips, bolt & toggle link which are unnumbered. Overall retains most of its orig factory blue with slight muzzle & sharp edge wear. Retains about 60% straw colors. Mechanics are fine, bright bore, pitted in grooves. Luger fans are eventually going to realize that since post war Mauser Lugers are already bringing prices of $900 to $1400 depending on condition and factory boxed accessories, a mint 1920 Luger of prewar quality is certainly underpriced in many cases. IMHO, such examples have an honest value of at least $1300.

I have a 1923 5 digit 90%+ nice grips proper mag paid $700 out of a shop, I value it at $900.00 but who knows I saw a black widow mag sell on ebay for close to $300 go figure.

Here is one listed on Simpson Ltd. that is absolutely beautiful! With holster and tool, 99% blue and 99% straw and $2195!
