Blew it at the gun show.
Damn!
I blew it yesterday. Found a near-pristine Ortgies in .32 ACP and because I wanted to get a lower price out of the guy, I let it slip away. Been kicking myself for 24 hours. Stupid can be raised to an art form! If anybody runs across a LN Ortgies in any caliber, please think of me. |
I have made this mistake many times, and it is irritating. Have gotten better (unless they treat me like an idiot) then they can keep the "item". but I have offered $50 less for something I wanted, and have gone back and gotten it feeling that, if I want it for $350, then $400 is okay too....
That said, more than once I have walked around the show trying to decide if I wanted the item and went back, and got there just as it was being sold. I make much faster decisions than I used to, either I want it and stay looking at it and talking to the "owner" or decide against it ;) most of the time :D |
I feel the same about an Erfurt Artillery luger I didn't buy at the Chantilly gun show a couple weeks ago. Even though it was reblued, it had an excellent bore and numbers matching (except clip) and looked great. At $1,750.00, I thought a very good price and have thought about it since that day.
I'd rather have someone else kick my butt. I might be to lenient on myself. |
Check this out,
I got caught up in the Saints game and forgot about it. http://gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=64236235 Mike C. PS. Commence kicking please |
My screw up was worse than that Ed. I KNEW I wanted it. I was just trying to get the "best deal".
Stupid, stupid, STUPID! From now on, I'm not walking away without the gun. |
