Swiss M1882 Revolver...
 

If anyone is looking for a Swiss M1882 Swiss revolver, this one on Guns America seems promising and might be worth having the seller send you more photos.

You say - Its considered an "antique" and not a C&R.... in the USA.....
I looked at getting an M1882 over here in the UK as I own and shoot a couple of S-Rubins and thought it would be a good addition to my Heritage Pistol Collection but found it would be classed as Section 7.3 which means I would have to keep it at Bisley even thought that 7.5mm Fiocchi ammo is virtually "unobtanuim" over here.

My condolences to you for being a collector living in the UK.

I guess here in the USA we are still fortunate. I have gotten my early Swiss revolvers from Switzerland to my door step in less than 1 week. No paperwork and it was all legal.

7.5 swiss antique status
 

you could contact your local firearms officer and explain that 7.5 swiss is an obsolete calibre the guide lines on antique calibres are just that individual forces do have some leeway i know of a .476 webley being held legally as an antique and a .45 saa made in 1874 ,the .45 cartridge used in early saa`s is different to the modern cartridge, remember its
"made before 1939 and fireing a non commercially available cartridge" so 7.5 swiss fall well within the guidelines

The info I was given on the M1882 came from an HBSA Member and the only M1882 I've ever seen was at a Section 7 meeting at Bisley - which is where I'm going this weekend....at least you're undercover on Melville..
As for "contact your local firearms officer" - well, he's on long term "sick" at the moment - just hope he gets better, quick, as my FAC is going thru Renewal at this very moment and I've submitted quite a "Wish List" of both s1 and s7 stuff.if it all goes thru I shall be very happy but very poor!
