Can anybody tell me if this a artillery shoulder strap. It measures 73 inchs long 3/4 inchs wide, it has 7 holes on the end and 5 holes on the outher end. It has a 2 inch metal plate riveted on one end that is blackesh and has some letters or numbers on it can not make it out Any help would be greatly apreciated
Thanks Alex,

Alex, What you are looking at is a reproduction strap. An original has an even #of holes on each end, I forget how many but 8 or 10, 72" long. The thickness should be a tad over one tenth of an inch.
I have never seen an original Artillery strap with any kind of metal plate attached. This fixture is the mark of a phony. Jerry Burney

Ritchie Shavel brought up an interesting point..This may be a Persian Artillery strap. Persian Artillery rigs. I really can't say about these..I have never made a study of the Persian Artillery items, who made them , when or any peculiarities or differences in the German ones. I only know about Original German Artillery's.

Strap

This is a very well made strap. Maybe it is for something else. Had a friend look at the metal plate, looks like it has RIW5C on it.
Thanks Alex,
