Swiss Banner Probe
Can someone tell/show me what a BP stamp should look like on swiss models?
Where is a good place to find all the stamps on different models? What is a U under a crown called? Thanks |
Hi Ernie,
The term is "Berner Probe". Here is what is looks like on one of my Swiss M1929 Lugers : http://forum.lugerforum.com/lfupload/bp_on_my_m1929.jpg Here is a chart from the Bobba book on Swiss lugers showing all the Swiss proofs : http://forum.lugerforum.com/lfupload...ping_copy2.jpg Crown/U is probably one of the "BUG" proofs on commercial lugers. Crown/Crown/U was a late Mauser proof in the WWII era. You will see only "BU" on the left side of a receiver and "BUG" on the barrel (usually with "halos") : http://forum.lugerforum.com/lfupload/bug_1.jpg http://forum.lugerforum.com/lfupload/bug_2.jpg |
