Shawn,

Welcome to the Forum.

This may be an interesting Luger, but we need a few more details. What caliber is this gun, .30 Luger or 9mm? Are you certain that the frame and barrel sn is only four digits? Is there posssibly a script letter suffix beneath the frame number? Is the gun marked GERMANY anywhere besides the magazine? Are the sides of the toggle knobs flat, or scooped out? Does the gun have a grip safety?

Do you have any pictures you can post?

I do not know the caliber.Frame and barrell serial numbers are only 4 digits. No script letter below frame number. If toggle knobs are located on end of magazine they are scooped out.I see Germany nowhere else besides on wooden knobs end of magazine.Yes does have grip safety.I will try to post pictures.THANKS

Shawn welcome to the forum.

I think pictures need to be shown, as sometimes a number is actually a letter, ;)

Every year they made new numbers, that is why Dwight asked about the suffix (that said, I have an erfurt, sn 6141, so was funny to see the same numbers).

Your's sounds like a 1900 model....

If a M1900, 61xx should be a US test luger and no "Germany" stamped on the frame would be correct. Where is the take down lever numbered? TH

Holy Toledo - another Test Luger! The list keeps on growing.

Edward Tinker 01-10-2007 01:37 PM

Shawn, being a test luger it attracts an audience, not as bad as Tac said $10,000, but probably a $2500 gun that is worth around $1000 now...

Its been buffed a bit bad...

What a freakin' shame.

Shawn Stanzel 01-10-2007 02:51 PM

OK guys here is a silly question. When my father obtained the gun it was already plated. Why would someone plate this gun?

c3006 01-10-2007 03:18 PM

Because it just didnt matter way back then,If the eagle is not to far gone it would make a great restoration project. clint
