Thor
I have been trying to get a hold of Thor by e-mail, and by phone with no success. And his PM box here is full. Anyone know if he is just busy, or something else is wrong? Thanks.
Regards, Ron |
PJ Heck is having the same problem with Ted regarding a Broom pistol...
I have sent 2 emails, off-Forum, with no replies either. |
Pete,
Sure seems kind of strange. I don't know what to make of it. He has had a mag and a safety lever of mine for quite a while. Do you think it is a cause for concern? I have done business with him in past years, and have had no problems. Anyone else know anything?? Ron |
Ron, he may be slow, but in my opinion, it'd kill him to do something dishonest...
|
Hi Ed,
I totally agree. I just don't know why I can't get through to him with e-mails, or a phone call. Normally in the past he has e-mailed me right back. I tried the phone number on the website, and got one of those machine voices, so I left a message there. Ron |
Maybe a well deserved 1-month long vacation away from the bluing tanks ???
|
I hope he's not ill... :(

I called the three major hospitals in Albuquerque and asked which room Ted Green was in. The closest match was a William Green.
I checked the New Mexico obits, but no Ted Green that I could find. I also tried looking at the Sandoval County Property Assessor's website to see if the property listed on his website (his residence) had another owner's name in addition to Ted's, but the site is apparently "down" until tomorrow. The Albuquerque area (including Rio Rancho) has had quite a bit of snow and the city is still recovering. However it seems that "Thor" has not been putting very many posts on the forum recently. My brother lives about 6.5 miles south of Ted but I'm not going to ask him to go knock on his door. However, if one of you who is familiar with Ted wants to, I would suggest calling the police (Sandoval County Sheriff's Dept.) and ask them as a courtesy to check his home to see if he's ok. Dave in TN. |
I really admire the way people on this forum come together and help eachother out. Unfortunately I do not know Thor personally as you do, but I hope everything is fine. Again, you really are a bunch of good guys.

A good Friend of mine and Teds is on his way over there now. If he has anything to report later I will post it. Jerry Burney

good, Ted is a good guy. Hope that all is well...

Thor report from a good Friend in Rio Rancho NM.
I went by Ted's today and he was headed out the door so I didn't have a lot of time to visit. He told me that he has been very sick for the last two months I'm a little worried about him. I tried to encourage him the best I could. I thought this might be the problem. Hopefully he will get back to his old self soon. Maybe a word of encouragement on the forum would be nice. He told me that he hasn't checked any email's or answered any calls. Maybe he he looks on the forum some? I don't know. |
Jeryy,
Our thanks to you and your friend for checking on Ted..! As Ed wrote and I'd agree - Ted would rather do "without" then ever not do the "right thing". I would know, as he and I have chatted long and often over the years, but not recently..?? Maybe we should all send him and e-mail - or - just meet at his house and say Hi Ted - how are you dong??!! :) Thanks again Jerry! John D. |
Get well soon Thor, we miss you. I don't know if I have any pull with the Big Guy upstairs, but I'll put in a prayer for your speedy recovery.
|
I hope that Thor gets back to his old self soon. I hope someone that lives in that area, or knows people that do, will follow up with this and make sure he is OK. God Bless you Thor!
Regards, Ron P.S. I still would like my mag and safety lever back :-) |
Maybe a Member who might live close to Ted could help his family set up an "auto reply" feature through his email account.
This would help customers receive some sort of reply in Ted's absence. It is tough to build up a cottage business. Last thing you want is to have customers go away because they feel ignored. |

I heard from Ted this morning. Sounds like he is on the mend.
He sent me a nice note about the status of his business, his back-log, and new customer work. I have asked Ted if I may post that message here on the Luger Forum. If he agrees, I will do so in a follow-up posting. |
Pete,
I just heard from Ted also and already asked him if I could post the email that he sent. He gave it his ok. Here is what he had to say. To all my valued clients and friends: The winter of 2006/2007 has been very tough on the Green family I have struggled with illness for about 1 & ½ months now and my restoration work has suffered horribly and been delayed because many days I simply have not had the strength to work on projects. I am hopeful that I will be able to resume the work soon. I have several Lugers that are almost completed that may ship soon if my health improves. I know I am behind on projects and am sorry to my clients for this condition that was not forseen previously and I feel frustrated that I have not been able to work more. I have decided to stop taking any new projects until I get all my backlog out. I have been keeping a low profile in the attempt to get better and rest. Please forgive my silence and above all please pray for me and my health. I thank you for your patience and understanding. Let's keep him in our prayers and hopefully he will be back with us soon. Sid. |
I want to thank everybody. I also had a luger in ted's hands and was concerned with no instant reply as is usual. Checking on the forum i immediately knew it would be ok. Your personal descriptions put me at ease and i have since heard from ted also. Thanks guys. Ted should frame some of your replys we should all be so lucky.
