Finnish Contract Luger
I started a thread in the restoration forum ( http://forum.lugerforum.com/showthre...threadid=16088 ) about converting a shooter grade .30 to 9mm . Come to find out it may be a WWII Finnish contract. I was able to verify the Mauser banner on the toggle via a phone call, but I did not want to bug him futher by looking for other marks. I did mention that it has a phosphate finish, but I did not mention that it was almost light grey to silver in appearance. I will get some pictures posted this weekend, but till then, is this the right color finnish for a Finnish Luger? (Sorry I had to do it:rolleyes: )

Stefan, not a lot is known about finnish or their finnish ;) I believe many were kind of a phosphate, but I am not sure...

Bad news. Upon closer inspection, it appears that the gun had been bead blasted. The Mauser banner on the toggle is mearly a shadow and the SA is nowhere to be found. In fact, the serial number on the frame is gone. A fact I pointed out to the shop owner, who was unaware of this. All the other s/n's matched up fine. My dad even brought his camera with a good macro lense to get some good closeups, but we did not bother. I had originally offered him 3 for it and was told someone else offered 4. I suggested that he call the owner of the gun to take the 4. He seems dead set on getting 650. Oh well, maybe I'll have better luck next time. I just hope nobody gets stuck with it at that price.
