Portuguese 1906 M2 & 1935 GNR
What is the difference between the two holsters? I've seen pictures of what seems to be the same type for each. Unless they didn't know the difference either, if there is any.
Thanks, Mike C. |
Mike, I'm sure that the GNR did use some M1906 holsters and have seem a few that were converted by adding a taller belt loop, to the acknowledged GNR pattern. Other than the belt loop and some being marked GNR on the back, they are the same holster. TH

Tom,
Why was it converted to a taller belt loop? Wider belt, or did they want the holster to be lower on the hip? I saw a holster for sale at www.relicsofthereichs.com under (lugers) that is stated to be for a Portuguese M2. All of the holsters for M2's I've seen before have a point on the bottom edge of the flap. This one is much more rounded and I thought there could be a difference between the two variations. Thanks Mike C. |
