Stoeger Lugers Available

This is the first time I've looked at this page. I wanted to read about the Stoeger stainless Lugers. There is a Navy model and a 4" model, both new, at a local gun shop, and I was thinking about maybe buying one. If anybody is looking for these models, the store's Web site is:

www.virginiaarms.com (in Manassas, Virginia)

Virginia Arms

The maker of Stoger lugers, AIMCO, of Huston, Texas, is still in business. I called them today. They offer lugers in stainless and lugers in stainless with a black "Impreglon 218" hi-tech matte finish. They offer 4 and 6 inch barrels, and one 30 caliber model with a grip safety!

Even better, they no longer say "Luger" on the side...

AIMCO will also make a 6 or 8 inch barrel assembly to put on your 4 inch model or at least use to offer this option. This option will allow you to have several barrel lenghts without buying individual guns.I purchased one of there commemrative Lugers that they made for NAPCA Members to celebrate the 100th year of the Luger. Looks good, some tool marks but a good addition to the collection and of course will remain unfired.

AIMCO does not have a Web site. They are located at:

AIMCO

5123 Gulfton

Houston, Texas 77081

Phone: (832) 689-4863

FAX: (713) 661-5411

Prices:

4" stainless $695.00

6" stainless $725.00

4" black $795.00

6" black $825.00

.30 caliber $995.00 (has grip safety, black)

commemorative model & case $1500

They also have parts.

Now this is the good part: I called them today and ordered a 6" in black, and inquired if the small parts could be strawed. The answer was yes, and at no additional charge! I was then asked if I wanted a lanyard loop and grip safety (this is a package [different frame is involved]).

They are the manufacturer for Mitchell Arms, and then Stoeger. Stoeger was recently purchased by Berretta, and apparently is not going to handle AIMCO lugers.

The black finish is Impreglon 218, described as an oil industry finish, sprayed on and baked at some 600 degrees. Supposed to be very durable, non-flaking, and both lubricating and lubricatively wettable. I have not seen this finish, but can hardly wait.

They also sell parts for their guns. Tell Mr. Romo (sp?), who was very friendly, that Jim Foster sent you.....!
