Holy Cow!

I just "captured" one of these from my dad and was about to ask a question from you Luger experts !!!!

Here is the picture of it, what does the flap marking represent?

My dad has a modest collection of Luger's and accesories and I traded him for the pouch which came with one post war mag and loading tool. He didn't have a clue as to what it was until I told him .... he bought it "back in the day" for $25.00 with the extra stuff.

Mark, You have an Artillery double mag pouch. The Imperial Navy wore theirs on a shoulder holster carry strap. Artillerymen wore their double, triple and quadruple mag pouches on their belts. George Anderson brought this to my attention when he told me he had never seen an Artilleryman with a double mag pouch on a strap in period photo's. Always on the belt..
A very nice example you have there.
Where is the marking? Can you show a photo of it backed off a little to show placement? I don't recognize it right off. Jerry Burney

The marking is visible when you lift the flap ... It is ink stamped and also markings pressed into the leather.

If I may ask an off-topic question, MarcC, where did you get the wood grips for the P38 as shown in you avatar ?
Unique. Were they custom made, or aftermarket production ?

The grips are factory original for the single action .30 Mod. HP which is pictured and in my collection.
