Which of the schmeisser marked mags is the rarest, the 122 or fxo, and of the two which it the earlier mm. as I understand it they are both the same company. thanks

I moved this from holsters to accessories...



Rarer? I would say neither one, you see both on ebay for sale frequently :confused:

am I wrong in thinking that the 122 and fxo are from the same factory? If not then I was wondering what mark was the first to be used, is this mark like the 63 mauser mark, then later came the 655 mark?

neither, in fact none of the marks are from the factory, they are the acceptance markings of the inspector(s) who worked at the factory for the gov't.

And yes, these inspector acceptance markings are all the same, and in different time periods / inspectors, I do not know which came first.

But, as I said, are you trying to match something up or just asking general questions? If you are trying to match something up then you have to know when your pistol was made and what the acceptance markings on it are.

I would apprecaite you elaborating, as you stated earlier mm?? Is that marking or what? Geenrally mm is used as millimeter or (2) matching magazines ...

If you are going to collect the nazi era guns, (and we don't mind you asking questions), but I suggest you buy Third Reich Lugers from Jan Still.

Thanks, mm I use for makers marks. sorry for not typing it out, I do not have a gun that I want to match a mag to, I just was wondering which mark was used at what time, The eagle 37 is used on both mags but the 122 and fxo are not. so was this a different inspection place? Inspector? or time of inspection and they changed the mark? Just general question. trying to get it strait in my mind.

* OBTW: Just as Mauser changed their Oberndorf plant code from "42" to "byf" in 1941 (per Army "request), so too did C.G Haenel change their plant code designation from "122" to "fxo". The "sE/37" is the Army Inspector's acceptance stamp(s).

Kunta, Bob's info above is correct. The code 122 mag would be correct for a late 1939 code 42 thru some early 1941 code 42s in the n,o or p suffix blocks.
