new to forum and have a question
A friend of mine has a dwm luger 1921 dated with a 15 3/4" barrel and regular sights (not ramp artillary) and a matching shoulder stock and a wooden foregrip mounted to barrel of pistol

recheck the barrel length... it should be greater than 16" the correct measurement is from the end of the muzzle to the face of the breechblock. Measure it properly by inserting a cleaning rod until it touches the closed breechblock, then mark the rod at the muzzle, then withdraw the rod and measure the length from the mark to the tip...

It sounds like the measurement that you gave is only the exposed part of the barrel. If the barrel is truely 16" then the gun is legal from a federal point of view, but I have no idea what the laws are in NJ regarding stocked pistols. If you have other specific questions, just ask. Photos would be very helpful in identification of the Luger.

When you describe the stock as "matched" do you mean it is numbered the same as the gun, or does it just look like a nice match to the gun?

If it is a 1920's commerical barrel, they came in 4, 6, 8, 12, 15 inches (about any size you wanted), so it could be shorter or longer than 16 inches. That said, attaching the stock would not be legal on a short "rifle" of less than 16 inches...


It sounds like a Pacific Arms (or the like) barreled gun.

Ed, While the possibility of it being a Pacific Arms Luger exists, I think the measurement provided 15 and 3/4" is a pretty clear indicator that it is an aftermarket modern barrel, probably by Numrich. Especially because there is a forearm that attaches directly to the barrel and not to the pistol frame like a carbine...

I am very interested to know what this gun looks like and the actual barrel measurement.

I agree with John that this is most like a current GPC barrel, recently installed on this luger. Sound similar to the one that I have advertised in the For Sales Section under "shoulder stock legal shooter". TH
